Rogers Statement on Pensacola Shooting
WASHINGTON – Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Ala.), ranking member of the House Homeland Security Committee, today released the following statement on the shooting at the Pensacola Naval Air Station in Florida. The shooter was a Saudi national who was attending Department of Defense (DoD) flight training.
“Today’s attack is tragic and my heart is with the families of the victims, those injured, and the entire DOD family. The heroism of the sailors, civilians, law enforcement, and first responders saved lives today.
“While the FBI is conducting a full investigation into the shooter’s motives, it certainly bares the hallmark signs of a terror attack. I urge Saudi Arabia to cooperate completely with the investigation. It is vital that we fully understand the specifics of how the attacker was approved to enter the United States and attend flight training.”
